Some compelling reasons to visit during the off season:

Less traffic, less congestion, less people.  No long check out lines at the store, no anger inducing spats jockeying over parking spaces, freedom of maneuver from the very northern 4X4 beaches as far South as you wish to travel, and tee times, restaurant reservations, or other recreational activites are easier to schedule, if reservations are even needed at all.

As you'll see on the weather page, the weather in the off season can be quite temperate, allowing you to still enjoy the great natual wonders that make the Outer Banks so unique. (We were just there in March 06 and you'd have thought it was full blown Spring time!)

There are few things like a virtually deserted beach cresting wave upon endless wave of beautiful blue water during the Fall or Early Spring.

Many restaurants and businesses are staying open longer and some even year round so you have a much larger selection of options than in years past.

Many of these same stores offer their best discounts during the off season.

Since you're not competing for attention or service, you will find the special attention you receive to be almost unparalled.

The gas fireplace in the great room provides warmth and ambiance during cooler times.

Our solar heated pool extends the season by a month or so on either end...and you don't get charged one penny.
